The village of Eivere was first mentioned as early as in year 1414.
The Eivere manor was
first time mentioned in 1552 when it belonged to the Zoeg family. Eivere
manor remained in Zoeg family's possession until 1586.
After that Eivere Manor has had various owners until 1836, when the
Stackelberg family became the owners.
Patrick William
von Stackelberg bought the manor from Friedrich von Patkul
in year 1836. In year 1859 Patrick died and manor was passed to his
oldest son, Wolter von Stackelberg (born 1835) and his wife Maria (von
Engelhardt). They had two sons, Reinhold and Ernst.
Only ten
years later (1869) Wolter passed away and Maria married Arnold von
Stackelberg who was the owner of Rawaküll manor (Rava). They didn't have
any children.
Reinhold
von Stackelberg became owner of Eivere in late 19th century and he died
in 1914. As he was not married and didn't have any children, his brother
Ernst became the owner.
Ernst von Stackelberg was the last owner of Eivere manor until year 1919
when - during the independence process and Estonian land reform - manor
house was taken to Estonian government’s possession.
From the
end of the Second World War (1945) until 2000, Eivere Manor was
orphanage and nursing home for the elderly.
The current
owners have owned the property since March 2003 and have restored the
manor as it was in the early 20th century.
